Terrigal Ocean Tours

It takes dedication and passion to pave the way for a sustainable future.

By beginning their ECO Certification journey, tourism operators can ensure they are putting in place effective and ethical sustainability practices for the longevity of their operation and the conservation of the natural environment. Here are the tourism operators who completed their criteria and achieved certification in June 2022!

Terrigal Ocean Tours

ECO Destination certified Central Coast has gained a new ECO certified operator offering marine tours for every season, Terrigal Ocean Tours!

Don’t miss your view of the great humpback whale migration in the colder months – Terrigal Ocean tours can bring you and the family along to see these beautiful creatures make their way down the east coast while you and your trusted tour guide identify species and learn about their biology. In summer, you can catch a Terrigal Ocean Tours adventure through Broken Bay that sees you explore national parks, Central Coast beaches and even spot some dolphins, seals and little penguins while you’re at it!

Behind the scenes, Terrigal Ocean Tours are using their expertise to conduct vital marine research, having assisted the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage to track ocean currents and test water quality, as well as assisting the University of Newcastle’s search for Dendronephthya australis, a rare species of soft coral. Our newly ECO certified operator provides safe boats to release oceanic species back into the wild, helping groups like the Australian Seabird Rescue and the Central Coast Dolphin project.

Protecting the environment for generations to come is what makes them a great member of the Ecotourism Australia community.

Eco Escape 1138

Start planning your eco-stay with our Nature Tourism certified operator, Eco Escape 1138! Operating completely off-grid, guests can choose between three two-bedroom eco-cabins situated amongst untouched natural bushlands and grasslands.

Owen and Jacqui’s love for their pocket of the Snowy Mountains was only part of their mission to create sustainable eco-cabins – with concerns about climate change and recognising that more and more travellers are seeking sustainable options for the sake of the environment, Eco Escape 1138 was created. Their cabins are run on 100% solar and only use rainwater, making your stay a sustainable one.

Oh, and did we mention the mountain views?
